I recently discovered this great site (a series of sites really) called Photography Served. There's also links to illustration, typography and motion graphics among others...
The sites and the content are great for inspiration, but that's not why I'm sharing. What's also interesting is the social functionality.
Instead of a "Like" button, the sites use their own form of social currency - appreciation. It's a cool move considering how the word "like" has become nearly meaningless (albeit ubiquitous) due to it's proliferation across the web. To appreciate something seems more meaningful, and closer to the art world.
